The Invisalign system uses a series of almost invisible, removable plastic trays or 'aligners' which fit snugly over your teeth, progressively straightening them to create your perfect smile.
The aligners are made to fit your teeth (and your teeth only). Using state of the art computer imaging technology, each aligner is slightly different from the next, meaning that your teeth can be gently moved and realigned over the course of the treatment.
Invisalign aligners are clear and almost invisble when worn. Unlike other orthodontic treatments, Invisalign aligners are comfortable and removable. Patients can eat and drink as normal during treatment, and it is easy for them to keep their mouths clean and fresh.
As the world's most advanced orthodontic treatment, Invisalign has transformed the smile of more than 2.5 million people living in 45 countries worldwide. Because the aligners are almost invisible when worn, most people won't spot that their family, friends or work colleagues are wearing the aligners.
Invisalign's invisibility makes it an ideal treatment for adults and for teenagers that are self-concious, enjoy sports or play wind instruments.
Once your Invisalign treatment has started, you will wear each set of the invisible aligners for two weeks. The aligners are held in place by attachments that are bonded to your teeth. These attachments are very small tooth-coloured lumps, and at the end of the treatment they are polished off with no long-term harm to the teeth.
Most Invisalign Tooth Straightening treatments last between 9 and 18 months.
This is completely subjective and varies based on the position of your teeth and the complexity of the movements involved. To find out exactly how long the treatment will last for you, please visit us for a complimentary consultation.
"I’d developed a complex about my teeth. My front teeth stuck out and my jaw was too small, which meant that I hated smiling.
I looked into treatment options and decided Invisalign was the perfect choice for me. Because they’re nearly invisible, I was able to carry on living my life without being self-conscious – people didn’t even know I was wearing them."Watch the interview
"When my sister told me she was getting married and asked me to be a bridesmaid I was equal parts thrilled and terrified.
I was dreading the pictures – all those people looking at my crooked teeth. On such an important day, I really wanted to look my best and be able to smile with confidence, without worrying about my teeth."Watch the interview
"I had been conscious of my gappy smile for as long I could remember and really wanted to do something about it.
But, as a teacher, I’m under the constant scrutiny of young children, so as you can imagine, fixed braces just weren’t an option for me."Watch the interview
"I wore metal braces as a child. I found they were really uncomfortable, made me very self-conscious and I don’t believe they made much difference to my teeth.
The turning point was when my aunt introduced me to Invisalign – it was amazing to see how, with Invisalign’s computer treatment software (ClinCheck), my teeth would be expected to straighten over time."
